Online counselling, Australia wide
Some of the most meaningful conversations I have with clients happen on screen. Online counselling brings the same care, the same experience and the same practical support into your own home, wherever you are in Australia.
Counselling that comes to you
Life does not always make room for a drive across town. You might live hours from the nearest counsellor. You might be juggling small children, shift work, or a week where leaving the house feels like too much. Or you might simply feel more at ease talking from your own couch, with your own cup of tea.
Online counselling removes the distance. We meet by secure video, face to face on screen, and the work we do together is the same work I do in my rooms in Barton. You are seen. You are heard. And you do not have to go anywhere to get there.
Who is online counselling for?
Online sessions suit many people, for many different reasons. It may be right for you if:
- You live in a regional or rural area, and the nearest experienced counsellor is a long drive away
- You are outside Canberra, interstate, or posted away from home for work
- You are a parent, and arranging care around appointments is one job too many
- Illness, injury or mobility makes travelling to appointments difficult
- Your work hours make it hard to get to a practice during the day
- You simply prefer the comfort and privacy of your own space
Whatever brings you here, the door is open. It just happens to be your own.
What can we work on together online?
Almost everything I offer in person is available online. That includes:
- Couples, relationship and marriage counselling, including sessions where you and your partner join from different locations
- Individual counselling for stress, anxiety, grief, life transitions and personal growth
- Family counselling, bringing family members together even when they live apart
- Pre-marriage counselling for couples preparing for the next chapter
- Sex therapy, where the privacy of home can make sensitive conversations easier to begin
How does it work?
Book your appointment
Choose the session length that suits you, 60 minutes or 120 minutes, and book online using the buttons on this page.
Receive your secure video link
Before your appointment you will receive an email with a private link to your video session.
Click the link at your appointment time
The session runs in your web browser. There is nothing to download or install.
We begin, just as we would in the room
Your first session is a relaxed, judgment-free conversation about what has brought you here and what you would like to be different.
What you will need
- A quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer, tablet or smartphone with a camera and microphone
- Headphones if you would like extra privacy, though they are not essential
That is all. If you can make a video call to family or friends, you can do online counselling.
Is meeting in person ever a better fit?
Sometimes, yes. Some people find it easier to open up in the room, and some situations are better supported face to face. If you are not sure which is right for you, we can simply talk it through when you get in touch. Many clients also move between the two, meeting in person at The Realm in Barton when they can, and online when life gets in the way.
If you are in crisis or immediate danger, please call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14. Online counselling is not a crisis service.
Book online counselling, from wherever you are
Taking the first step is often the hardest part. When you are ready, booking is simple. Choose a 60 minute or 120 minute session and pick a time that suits you.
