Life coaching for clarity and change

Life Coaching Canberra

Practical, supportive coaching to help you find direction, make sound life choices and follow through on them, in Barton or online across Australia.

Most people who come to life coaching are not in crisis. They are capable, busy and quietly stuck. Perhaps you know something needs to change but cannot name it, or you know exactly what you want and cannot seem to get there. Life coaching gives you a structured, judgment-free space to work out what matters, set goals you actually care about, and turn intention into action.

The work

How life coaching helps

A life coach is not there to tell you how to live. The work is a partnership: your coach asks the questions that cut through the noise, helps you see the patterns and assumptions holding you in place, and keeps you honest about the gap between what you say you want and what you actually do each week.

From there, coaching becomes practical. Together you set clear, realistic goals, break them into steps, and build the habits and accountability that carry you through the messy middle where most good intentions stall. Many clients find that the skills they build in coaching, like clearer decision-making, better boundaries and steadier follow-through, keep paying off long after the sessions end.

What you can expect

  • A clearer picture of what you actually want, not what you think you should want
  • Goals broken into practical, achievable steps
  • Honest accountability between sessions
  • Tools for decisions, habits and setbacks that outlast the coaching itself
Reasons people come in

What life coaching can help with

Whatever has you feeling stuck, you will not be the first person to bring it into the room. We regularly help people work through:

  • Feeling stuck, flat or unsure of your direction and purpose
  • Career change, promotion decisions or returning to work
  • Confidence, self-doubt and the inner critic that talks you out of things
  • Work-life balance, overload and the early signs of burnout
  • Procrastination, motivation and following through on goals
  • Big decisions and life transitions such as relocation, retirement or a new chapter after separation
  • Building healthier routines and habits that actually stick
  • Communicating with more clarity and confidence at work and at home
Which is right for you

Life coaching or counselling in Canberra?

The two often get confused, and the honest answer is that they overlap. Broadly, life coaching looks forward: it starts from where you are and focuses on goals, decisions and change. Counselling makes more room for what sits underneath, such as anxiety, grief, past experiences or persistent low mood. Because DIPAC offers both, you do not have to get the label right before you book. We will talk about what is going on for you in your first session and, if individual counselling is the better fit, or the right place to start, we will say so.

A simple way to start

How life coaching works

1

Start with a conversation

Your initial 45-minute session is a relaxed, confidential conversation about where you are, what is not working, and what you would like to be different. It is also a chance to see whether we are the right fit.

2

Get clear on your goals

Together we turn the vague sense that something needs to change into specific, meaningful goals, and map the practical steps between here and there.

3

Do the work, with support

Ongoing sessions keep you moving: reviewing progress, working through obstacles as they come up, and holding you accountable to the person you said you wanted to become.

Two ways to meet

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between life coaching and counselling?
Coaching is forward-looking: it focuses on goals, decisions and change from where you are now. Counselling makes more room for what sits underneath, such as anxiety, grief, past experiences or low mood. There is real overlap, and because DIPAC offers both, you do not need to have it worked out before you book. If counselling turns out to be the better fit, we will tell you.
What happens in the first session?
Your initial session runs for 45 minutes. It is a relaxed, confidential conversation about where you are, what you would like to change, and what has stopped you so far. From there we agree on goals and the best way to work together.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you are working towards. Some people get what they need from a handful of focused sessions around a single decision or goal. Others prefer ongoing coaching over several months while they work through a bigger change. We will talk about what makes sense for you in your first session, and you are never locked in.
Do you offer online life coaching?
Yes. We offer secure online life coaching to clients across Australia, with the same experienced support you would receive in person in Canberra.
Is life coaching right for me if I am dealing with anxiety or depression?
Coaching works best when you are broadly well and want help with direction, goals and follow-through. If anxiety, depression or past experiences are a significant part of the picture, our individual counselling is usually the better starting point, and coaching can follow later if it is useful. You are welcome to book an initial session either way and we will help you find the right path.
Where are you located?
DIPAC is at Level 1, The Realm, National Circuit, Barton ACT 2600, central to Canberra and easily reached from across the region.
How do I get started?
You can book an appointment online any time, or contact us on (02) 6198 3423 or through our contact page and we will help you find a suitable time.
