Individual Counselling Canberra
A calm, confidential space to work through what is weighing on you, in person in Canberra or online across Australia.
Life has a way of building up. Stress, worry, grief, a knock to your confidence, or a heaviness you cannot quite name. Individual counselling gives you a calm, neutral space to make sense of what is happening and find a way forward that feels like your own. We have supported people across Canberra through difficult seasons since 2009, and you do not need to wait until things reach crisis point to come in.
How individual counselling helps
Individual counselling gives you time and space that is entirely your own, with someone whose focus is simply you. Together we look at what has brought you in, the patterns that keep repeating, and the thoughts and feelings that have been hard to sit with, and we build practical ways to move through them.
Some people arrive with something specific in mind, like anxiety, grief, or a decision they are weighing up. Others simply know that something feels off and want the space to understand it. Either way is welcome. If what you are carrying is tied to a relationship, our relationship counselling can sit alongside this work.
Counselling tailored to you
No two people arrive for the same reason, so no two counselling journeys look the same. Some want practical strategies they can start using straight away. Others need to feel properly heard for the first time in a long while. We work at your pace, in a way that suits how you think and what you need, drawing on the approach that fits you rather than fitting you to a method. Counselling is not a quick fix. Real, lasting change takes time and a little courage, and we are with you for it.
What individual counselling can help with
Whatever brought you here, you are not alone in it. We regularly support people working through:

- Low mood, depression and feeling flat or numb
- Grief and loss, including the loss of a relationship
- Trauma and difficult experiences from the past
- Low self-worth, confidence and self-doubt
- Major life changes, decisions and transitions
- Anger, frustration and feeling not quite yourself
- Patterns you keep repeating and want to understand

What our clients say
After many years in Special Forces, I was feeling void of anything positive in my life. When I arrived at your door, I was at my lowest. I’m on a different track now and I think I owe you for saving my life. The last 6 months working with you has been an incredible journey.
Geoff
I want to so thank you, after many years of being medicated for depression and anxiety, I no longer need medication. My GP said he was very happy to slowly remove my meds since seeing how far I had come with a healthy mind set and a change in my environment. Your quote “you need to get in a different room” rings in my ears daily.
